DEFROST HEAT MODE enables the system to select heating
operation during defrost. When DEFROST HEAT MODE is
ON, 2nd heating source (Electrical Heater or Gas Furnace)
is turned on during defrost. DEFROST HEAT MODE is initi-
ated by an outdoor temperature sensor located in the heat
pump. DEFROST HEAT MODE is activated when the outdoor
temperature reaches set point. Also “Always ON” and “OFF”
are available.
1. Follow procedure to enter “ComfortNet User Menu” of
“Outdoor Unit” (Refer page 44). Then, scroll down
and select “SYS SETUP1”.
2. “DF HEAT” turns DEFROST HEAT MODE OFF or
ON. DEFROST HEAT MODE is “OFF” by default.
3. “DF HEAT” adjusts the activation temperature from
30°F to 65°F. “Always ON” and “OFF” options are also
available to permanently engage DEFROST HEAT
MODE. Factory default is OFF.
