6.2 Fuel System Service and Maintenance
The fuel system needs to be
bled.
z Apply light film of oil or diesel fuel to the
rubber gasket of the new original DEUTZ
fuel filter cartridge.
z Manually screw in the new cartridge until
the gasket is flush.
z Tighten the fuel filter cartridge with a final
half-turn.
z Open fuel shut-off valve.
z Bleed fuel system, see 6.2.4.
Also loosen the bleed screw 4 until air-free
fuel emerges.
z Tighten the bleed screw 4
z Check for leaks.

6.2.2 Replace Fuel Filter
Keep naked flames away when
working on the fuel system.
Do not smoke!
z Close the fuel shut-off valve.
z Undo fuel filter cartridge with commercial
tool and spin off.
z Catch any escaping fuel.
z Clean any dirt from the filter carrier sealing
surface 1.
