Check, tension and change
belts only with the engine off.
Refit belt guard, if provided.
6.5.13 Tensioning /Changing
Alternator Belt

Pump Belts

Fuel Pump Belts

z Slacken off bolts 1 and 2.
z Push fuel pump 3 in direction of arrow until
correct belt tension is achieved.
z Tighten bolts 1 and 2.
z Slacken off bolts 1 and 2.
z Push fuel pump 3 in direction of arrow.
z Remove and replace belt.
z Push fuel pump 3 in opposite direction of
arrow until correct belt tension is achieved.
z Tighten bolts 1 and 2.
Tensioning:
z Slacken off bolts 1, 2 and 3.
z Move alternator 5 in direction of arrow (A)
until correct belt tension is achieved.
z Re-tighten bolts 1, 2 and 3.
Changing:
z Slacken off bolts 1, 2 and 3.
z Move alternator 5 in direction of arrow (B)
until belt is exposed.
z Remove and replace belt, tension (see
above).
z Re-tighten bolts 1, 2 and 3.
