4 Enclosure Overview
SIRIUS® is a data acquisition device,
which offers the highest flexibility for
inputs like voltage, current, temperature,
strain, vibration, pressure, counters, CAN
and more. The data-transfer to the PC can
be done via USB or EtherCAT®.
The SIRIUS® system consists of Slices
which contain up to 8 measurement
Modules.
Each SIRIUS® module has one analogue
channel. Some modules are available with
an additional counter channel - those
modules have a plus sign + at the end:
e.g. SIRIUS ACC+, SIRIUS STGM+
Optionally available is a version with 8
analogue outputs on the side of a Slice
(see 4.2.4 Analogue out version on page
29).
Multiple Slices can be combined and
synced together to get a multi-channel
solution.

4.1 Enclosure types
You can choose from 2 types of enclosures for your SIRIUS® systems: Either the flexible Single slice or the compact
Box version.
4.1.1 Single Slice
A single SIRIUS® slice can have up to 16 measurement
modules (see 5 SIRIUS® Measurement Modules no page
47).
Each measurement module has one analogue channel.
Some modules also have an optional counter channel
(e.g. ACC+).
Depending on the motherboard that you use the slice can
also have analogue output connectors at the rear side (see
4.2 Connectors at the rear side on page 26).
We offer several standard chassis with predefined modules
(see 5.4 SIRIUS® Dual Core specifications on page 54),
but you can also choose a customized slice with any
combination of the SIRIUS® measurement modules (see
5.3 SIRIUS® Slice Configuration on page 52).
