Symptom:
NO LEFT SIDE IMPACT SENSOR 1 COMMUNICATION
When Monitored and Set Condition:
NO LEFT SIDE IMPACT SENSOR 1 COMMUNICATION
When Monitored: The ACM continuously communicates with the Left Side Impact
Sensor 1 over the sensor signal circuit. The sensor communication and onboard diagnostics
are powered by the ACM signal.
Set Condition: The code will set, if the ACM and Left Side Impact Sensor 1 do not
establish and maintain valid data communications.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO BATTERY
SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
LEFT SIDE SENSOR 1 CIRCUITS SHORTED TOGETHER
GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN
ACM, LEFT SIDE IMPACT SENSOR 1
REPAIR IS COMPLETE
STORED CODE OR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
ACTIVE CODE PRESENT
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 Turn the ignition on.
NOTE: Ensure the battery is fully charged.
NOTE: For the purpose of this test, the AECM and ORC modules will be
referred to as an ACM.
SELECT ACTIVE or STORED DTC:
All
ACM - ACTIVE DTC
Go To 2
ACM - STORED DTC
Go To 9
NOTE: When reconnecting Airbag system components, the ignition must be
turned off and the battery must be disconnected.
