Why is my DriSteem Humidifier not filling with water?

  Several factors can prevent your DriSteem Humidifier from filling with water. First, verify that the manual water supply valve is open and has pressure. Check if the water supply line strainer is plugged and clean or replace it if necessary. Also, ensure the fill valve electrical connections are secure. The unit control might not be on, so press the On/Off switch on the display panel and check the transformer electrical connections. The fill valve may be malfunctioning; cycle it in Service mode to see if it opens. If not, verify its electrical connections and check for 24 VAC (terminals 2 and 5). If voltage is present but the valve doesn't open, replace it. Finally, confirm the humidifier isn't in end-of-season drain mode by checking for a humidification demand signal at the control board.

A malfunctioning level control system could be the culprit, so ensure the high water sensor electrical plug is fully engaged. Check the water conductivity, which should be at least 125 ?S/cm; add sodium bicarbonate to increase it if needed. Another cause could be a stuck fill valve, so check for control voltage across the fill valve coil (terminals 2 and 5). Inspect for any obstructions preventing the valve from seating properly, and clean or replace the valve as necessary. Lastly, verify the drain valve is fully closed; clean or replace it if an obstruction prevents closure, or replace a broken or weak return spring.

  Reduced or no output from your DriSteem Humidifier, even with the correct water level, can be caused by a malfunctioning control system or a steam cylinder issue. Check if auxiliary limit controls are preventing operation; reset, replace, or calibrate them as needed, or jumper H-H if they aren't used. Also, check the fuse in the power circuit and replace it if open. For the steam cylinder, verify that proper voltage is being applied and check the current through the electrode wires. If the power components aren't functioning, replace them.

For contactor noise, verify the electrical connections of the contactor and transformer, and check for 24 VAC on the internal control board terminal strip. A continuous chattering noise indicates a failing contactor or malfunctioning controls, so replace the contactor or troubleshoot the control system. For fill valve noise, a clicking or hissing sound is normal, but a slamming sound indicates "water hammer," which can be minimized by installing a shock arrestor. A loud buzzing sound suggests poor alignment or valve stem issues, so replace the valve.
