SAFETY SUMMARY (Continued)
The Personal Computer
When turning off the power to the personal computer while the hard disk,
floppy disk, or MO drive (optional) is still running, the computer may
malfunction or the data and software can be destroyed.
Computer Viruses and Backup Data
If any program/data is damaged suddenly or an unexpected
operation/screen is encountered, the personal computer may be infected by
a computer virus.
Computer viruses are malicious programs that sneak into the personal
computer to cause misbehavior or damage to data. A program designed to
offer protection against computer viruses is called a vaccine program (virus
scan).
Do not use any programs or storage media that are suspected of containing
a virus.
If there is a possibility of virus infection, check for a virus using a vaccine
program.
It is very important that you make a backup of your hard disk just in case.
