3.2 Preliminary Operation
3.2.1 Initialization
Upon turning on the power switch, the INITIALIZATION frame appears on
the display and the instrument performs a self-diagnosis and automatic
wavelength calibration.
During self-diagnosis your HALO DB-20 spectrophotometer checks the
following items.
RAM
ROM
Wavelength Driver
D2 lamp
WI lamp
AD Conversion
656.1nm
As each item is checked, the message “OK” will display if the item’s function is
normal or the message “NG” will display if the item’s function is abnormal.
CONSULT THE TROUBLESHOOTING SECTION IF YOU FIND ERROR
MESSAGE DURING INITIALIZATION.
Error Message:
1. If the wavelength driver is NG, the system will freeze. And you must power
off the instrument to solve the problem.
2. If the other items are error, the instrument can go on run by pressing
Clear/Return. Or else the system will stop.
