31. With a 9mm hex socket, unscrew the eight retaining
screws and remove the reverse idle gear cover.
NOTE: With a soft hammer, gently tap on the cover
to break the seal.

32. Remove the reverse idle gear from its housing, being
careful to prevent the needle roller bearing from falling
underneath.
33. With an 11mm hex socket, remove retaining screws and
the PTO cover.
NOTE: With a soft hammer, gently tap on the cover
to break the seal.

34. Prior removing the transmission rear case, shift into the
2nd speed using a pry bar and pushing the 1st/2nd gear
synchronizer sleeve downward.
35. Remove the rear case by lifting the case using the hands.
NOTE: Using a soft hammer, gently tap around the
case, on the ange or near it, being careful not to
damage the case, to break the seal.
