10. Check that the cable to be earthed is dead.
11. Connect the earthing caps to the earthing point of the
Magnefix switchgear using the earthing spider or the
individual earthing cables.
When fitting the earthing caps, never put your
hand between the red ring on the mounting rod
and the earthing caps.
12. Use the installation rod to switch on the three earthing
caps firmly on the cable to be earthed.

13. Then immediately fit the short-circuit strip.
The function of the short-circuit strip is to prevent
the earthing cables from lashing in the unlikely
event of a short circuit developing.
