CAUTION: VENTILATION FOR PUMP
Risk of damag
e to equipment. If the pump is in an enclosure, make sure that
sucient venlaon is available. The ambient temperature around the pump must
not be more than 40 °C.
Natural convecon cooling: For the light pumping dues, with an ambient air
temperature less than 30 °C, natural convecon cooling can be sucient to cool
the pump.
Forced air cooling: The ambient air temperature must be 5 °C to 35 °C when you
use the forced air cooling. make sure that there is sucient supply of cooling air to
the pump.
Water cooling: Use water cooling when the ambient air temperature greater than
35 °C or when you use a bakeout band (CF variants only). When you use the water
cooling, ambient air temperature must be less than 40 °C and the water
temperature must be between 10 °C and 20 °C.
We recommend to cool the pump by forced air cooling or water cooling, when possible.
Refer to Table: Cooling water specicaon on page 24 for more performance
informaon on the performance.
4.10.2 Forced air cooling
You can congure the customer controller to operate the air cooler only if the
commands can be sent through the serial interface or a manufacturer's TIC Turbo and
Instrument Controller or Turbo Controller.
Air cooling accessories are available for the pump (refer to Accessories on page 92).
Install the air cooler as given in the instrucon manual supplied with it. If you use an
alternave fan for air cooling, make sure that the ow rate is more than
100 m
3
h
-1
(60 cfm).
You can supply the power to the air cooler by a customer external power supply, the
manufacturer's TIC Turbo and Instrument Controller, the TIC Turbo Controller or the
Controller. If a TAV solenoid valve is connected to the controller, you cannot supply the
power to the air cooler by the controller. Obey the electrical connecon instrucons in
the air cooler manual to wire the lead of the air cooler into the controller connector
supplied with the pump (refer to Figure: Controller connector showing pin numbers on
page 30). Connect the connector into the socket at the side of the controller (refer to
Figure: Controller status informaon on page 42).
4.10.3 Water cooling
CAUTION: CONDENSATION IN PUMP
Risk of damag
e to equipment. To prevent the condensaon in the pump and
controller, stop the cooling water supply when the pump is set to o.
Condensaon can occur if you use a water cooling block in a high humidity
environments. Protect the pump and other equipment by considered design of the
installaon. Refer to Figure: RS485 mul-drop connecon on page 46 for
recommendaons.
