Blowing Head Set Up
NOTE: Mount the Blowing Head onto the Dispenser.
Place two turn of PTFE tape around the end of the m/d as shown then place the
m/d into the lower half of the m/d clamp. Push the m/d completely into position
to provide maximum grip. There are two clamp sections to accommodate two
sizes of m/d. Please refer to the section in this manual that deals with the
correct selection of these plates for a particular installation. Push the fi bre
unit into the m/d and lay it into the central groove in the fi bre plate.
Hold the fi bre unit in an arc to maintain the fi bre unit in position in the groove
and close the top half of the head. Take care to avoid trapping the fi bre unit
between the plates. Clamp the head together fully by tightening with the
‘Tommy’ bar ensuring that the fi bre is able to move freely at all times. Small
amount of leaking air is acceptable.
Push the buckle detector reset button. The green light now illuminates on the
control box, indicating the presence of fi bre unit.
NOTE: Use the buckle detector reset button following any fibre stoppage.
This overcomes any possible electronic ‘lock-up’.
Connect the air source to the inlet. Set up a steady airflow, as confirmed by
flowmeter at the far end of the route. Install the fibre unit by switching the
ON/OFF switch to the ON position then turning the speed control clockwise
to increase the speed.
