9 Trouble-shooting
9.1 Trouble-shooting instructions
Always start trouble-shooting with the checklist below, if faults occur after start-up or
during operation. The routine takes you directly to the cause of the problem and the
appropriate remedial measures.
Check the display
No display visible and no
output signals present.
1. Check the power supply → terminals 1, 2
2. Check the power line fuse

85...260 V AC: 0.8 A slow-blow / 250 V
20...55 V AC and 16...62 V DC: 2 A slow-blow / 250 V
3. Measuring electronics defective
→ order spare parts → Page 96
No display visible, but out-
put signals are present.
1. Check whether the ribbon-cable connector of the display module is
correctly plugged into the amplifier board

Error messages on display
Errors which occur during commissioning or measuring operation are displayed immediately.
Error messages consist of a variety of icons: the meanings of these icons are as follows (example):
– Error type: S = system error, P = process error
– Error message type:
$ = fault message, ! = notice message
– EMPTY PIPE = Type of error, e.g. measuring tube is only partly filled or completely empty
– 03:00:05 = duration of error occurrence (in hours, minutes and seconds)
– # 401 = error number
" Caution!
• See the information on Page 64!
• The measuring system interprets simulations and positive zero return as system errors, but displays
them as notice message only.
Error number:
No. 001 – 399
No. 501 – 699
