Hardware Manual 2–1
2 - INSTALLATION
This chapter describes the processes used to initially install and configure your
SS2100r analyzer. Once the analyzer arrives, you should take a few minutes to
examine the contents before installing the unit.
What Should be Included in the Shipping Box
The contents of the crate should include:
• The SpectraSensors SS2100r analyzer
• A document CD, which includes this manual and other system
manuals and documents
• External serial cable(s)
• Additional accessories or options as ordered
If any of these contents are missing, contact “Customer Service” on page
B-11.
Inspecting the Analyzer
Unpack and place the unit on a flat surface.
Carefully inspect the enclosure for dents, dings, or general damage. Inspect
the input and output connections, flow meter, temperature gauge, keypad and
display for damage. Report any damage to the carrier.
Installing the Analyzer
Installing the analyzer is relatively easy requiring only a few steps that, when
carefully followed, will ensure proper mounting and connection. This section
includes:
• Lifting/carrying the analyzer
• Connecting electrical power to the analyzer
• Connecting the signals and alarms
• Connecting the gas lines
Lifting/carrying the analyzer
Lift the analyzer by the handles on the front of the unit while securing the back
using at least two individuals to distribute the weight evenly and avoid injury.
Avoid jolting the instrument by dropping it or banging it against a
hard surface which may disturb the optical alignments.
