Table 1: Water specifications
Drain - The site requires access to an adequate drainage system that can handle at least 5
gallons per hour. Drainage regulations vary so it is important to check local rules and regulations
carefully. The water that is being drained from the machine is filtered water. It is excess purge
water from either ice production, melting, or overflow from some machine function. Have a
qualified plumber install drainage service to meet the minimum general requirements specified
above. Alternatively, there are many options available for fresh water drainage that can be
explored. Follow and comply with all local regulations. Line size: recommended ¾ inch Provide
positive drainage of 1%-2% (1/8”-1/4” per linear foot). Drain line must terminate with a two (2)
inch air gap at the sewer.
GSM Cell Coverage - The site requires access to GSM cellular signal reception. Normally, this is
not an issue, however, it is crucial to validate at the site before committing to an install, because
if you cannot get a signal, then there will be no recovery after-that-fact. GSM coverage
verification is especially important in remote areas. If the machine is to be placed in a populated,
busy area, it is normally safe to assume GSM coverage. The most reliable way to verify that you
will have GSM signal reception at the site is to purchase a GSM signal strength tester and
position it EXACTLY where the machine will be placed. This will eliminate all variables of “dead
spots”. Some Everest machines operate on a 3G network, but you will want to check with your
Everest salesperson or service technician to verify. If your machine was manufactured after
1/1/2020, you are operating on a 4G network.
Comply with Regulations
Validate that your local governing authorities will permit and allow the operation of ice and water
vending machines at the site. Contact local authorities so that you thoroughly understand all
rules and regulations related to vending machines, vending businesses, and specifically ice and
water sales. Obtain all necessary permits and licenses prior to investing funds to prepare the
site or install the machine.
