○ If they pass, but are being temporarily inhibited by software, then they are
dropped directly to the return coin cup, not added to the LCD balance.
○ If they pass then they are added to the LCD balance and are stored in the
machine:
■ If that denomination of coin does not have a corresponding tube, then the
coin falls directly to the return coin bin.
Inserting Bills - The denominations of bills that can be accepted should always be prominently
displayed on the machine. All bill acceptors are configured at the factory to accept all possible
bill types based upon the model of bill acceptor and the destination country. If there are
available security settings on the bill acceptor, then they are set to lowest security for maximum
acceptance rate. Also, all bill acceptors are configured to accept bills in any of the four
orientations.
Inserted bills either jam or are validated:
● If bills jam, then there is nothing the user can do. The unit will attempt to eject the bill but
if that fails then the unit will be disabled until a maintenance technician can clear the jam.
The prevalence of jams is directly related to the diligence and routine of periodic
maintenance on the bill acceptor. The more you clean it, the less it will jam. (see
periodic maintenance section)
● If bills do not jam then they are validated and either pass or fail.
○ If they fail then they are immediately rejected and a message appears.
○ If they pass, but unable to provide change a message will appear and the bill wil
not be returned.
Accepting Credit Cards - Everest machines by default use credit card readers manufactured
by USA Technologies. After a credit card is successfully read by the magnetic stripe reader (see
user interface section for details) then the machine immediately attempts to send the credit card
information to USA Technology servers via GSM cellular network for authorization. A message
will appear during authorization

If the machine cannot successfully contact the USA Technologies across the GSM network,
then it is not possible to attempt actual authorization of the card and a message will appear.
This ends the transaction. No authorization of this credit card was attempted and no further
authorization attempt will be made.
