MACHINE MAINTENANCE
Recommended Weekly Maintenance Checklist
● Machine exterior
○ Check for any physical damage to exterior of machine or doors
○ Minor or major repairs/touch-ups as necessary
○ Check that labels, backlit panel and backlights are in good condition
○ Verify price label matches LCD screen and update is necessary
○ Clean and wipe down the outside of the machine (including inside cavities, Ex.
Bag dispenser opening, coin cup)
○ Clean and check drain on water dispense housing
○ Spray the water housing (including nozzle and optional door with disinfectant
solution)
○ Spray the ice output chute (outside and inside) with disinfectant solution
○ Spray the bag dispenser opening with disinfectant solution
○ If close to salt water, wash down the machine with fresh water.
● Machine interior
○ Check for damage or abnormal breakdowns inside machine
■ Ex. Look for water that should not be there (check plumbing fittings, etc.)
● Locking systems
○ Check the rod control locking systems
○ Check all components are tight and secure and no signs of attempted forced
entry
○ Verify locking pins are installed in all three rod controls
○ Activate the locks with the door open
○ Use WD40 and/or adjust locks and pins as necessary to keep in good operating
condition.
● Ice machine
○ Verify the Scotsman unit is operating properly
○ Bin is full and “b” on LED or;
○ Machine is making ice and “F” or “H” on LED
● Barrel/saddle systems
○ Check that the saddle is secure and tight
○ Verify that the barrel rotation sensor is located correctly on the barrel rotation
indicator.
○ Spray the saddle and output chute with disinfectant solution
● Bag dispenser
○ If bag wicket is very low then replace with new bag wicket
