before opening entirely. Turn on the main inlet valve in the machine manifold. Check the entire
system for leaks.
Flush Sub-Micron Water Filters - New filter cartridges must always be flushed. Do not turn on
the machine power or do anything else until you flush the filters because various machine
functions will draw water from the manifold, and the filters need to be flushed in a controlled
process before being used. Remove the nozzle from the washdown hose and open the
washdown valve. Let water run for 5 minutes.
Warning: It is imperative to flush new filter cartridges for a full five minutes every time new
sub-micron filter cartridges are installed. If they are not flushed for five minutes immediately
the first time water is run through a new cartridge, then the cartridge will be permanently
damaged and will not perform up to specifications for the life of the cartridge.
Check for Proper Electricity Supply - Turn on the main external power. Check the PC control
board. Verify four red lights near the lower right corner of the PCB are on solid. This means that
the PCB is receiving power. Check the Scotsman ice cuber. The main panel should light up and
the cuber should begin an initial power on routine that can take up to 15 minutes.
Check for GSM Cell Connection - The machine must be able to maintain a reliable GSM cellular
connection in order to function properly. This is mostly an automated task that the machine
auto-negotiates and sets up without interaction with the operator. However, you must verify that
the GSM connection was successfully negotiated and that the machine is online. If the GSM
connection is online then you will see special LED indicators on the PCB. 1 Solid red LED as
indicated in the drawing. (LED1) Usually, the initial GSM connection will take less than 20
minutes after initial power-up. Sometimes the initial GSM connection might take the machine up
to 24 hours. If after 24 hours, the LEDs do not show an active connection, and the LCD screen
reads “Loading Configuration”, then contact tech support.
