Allowtheenginetocoolcompletelybefore
removingtheradiatorcaporservicingany
componentofthecoolingsystem.

4.Draincoolantwhenengineiscool.Remove
theradiatorcap,placeapanundertheradiator,
andremovethedrainplugatthebottomofthe
radiator.
5.Removethecoolanthosefromtheoilcoolerand
drainthecoolantfromtheengineblock(reference
Figure41).

stop,engageparkingbrakeandremove
key,beforeperformingmaintenance.
8.Operateengineuntiltheenginethermostatopens
andcoolantiscirculatingthroughtheradiator
core.Asairispurgedfromtheengineblockand
thecoolantleveldrops,addadditionalcoolantto
theradiator.
9.Whentheradiatoriscompletelyfullandno
additionalcoolantcanbeadded,continuerunning
andinstalltheradiatorcap.Makesurethatthe
capiscompletelyseatedbypressingdownrmly
whileturninguntilthecapstops.Oncethecapis
installed,theenginemaybestopped.

or“Fel-Pro,Pro-LockNutType”areusedonthe
followingfasteners:
