4.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
5.Liftthefootrest,exposingthetopofthemower
deck.
6.Removethedipstick/llplugfromthetopofthe
gearbox(referenceFigure32).
7.Extractoilthroughthellportusingavacuum
deviseorremovethegearboxfromthedeckand
pourtheoilout.
8.Reinstallthegearboxifitwasremovedtodrain.
9.Addenoughlubricant,approximately14oz(420
ml),untilthelevelisbetweenthemarksonthe
dipstick.
Important:DoNotoverllthegearbox;
overllingthegearboxmaydamageit.

3.Placepanundermachinetocatchoil.Remove
theoildrainplug.Allowoiltodrainandreplace
oildrainplug.
4.Replacetheoilltereveryoilchange.Clean
aroundoillterandunscrewltertoremove.
Beforereinstallingnewlter,applyathincoating
ofExmark4-CyclePremiumEngineOilonthe
surfaceoftherubberseal.Turnlterclockwise
untilrubbersealcontactsthelteradapterthen
tightenlteranadditional1fullturn.
5.Unlatchthehoodandliftituptoaccessoilll.
Cleanaroundoilllcapandremovecap.Fill
tospeciedcapacityandreplacecap.Useoil
recommendedintheCheckEngineOilLevel
section.DoNotoverll.Starttheengineand
checkforleaks.
6.Starttheengineatidlefor5minutes.Stopengine
andwaitthreeminutes,thenchecktheoillevel.
Ifrequired,addoiltobringleveltothe“FULL”
markonthedipstick.DoNotoverll.
7.Checkforleaks,includingaroundtheoillter.
8.Wipeupanyspilledoil.
