Steering test
Necessary for the measurement of the castor and pivot pin inclination.
Two procedures are available.
- Simplified procedure + / - 10° (recommended) castor and pivot measurement.
- Complete 0°, + 10°, + 20°, -10°, -20°, -0° castor pivot and steering variance at 20°.
IMPORTANT : The brake pedal press must be used.
- The first steering test will set the inspection values the other one will set adjustment values.
Wheel alignment
Alignment at the rear of the vehicle is assessed in relation to a line drawn through the middle of
the axles. The right-hand and left-hand values are different if the angle formed by the vehicle
travel axis is not zero. Alignment at the front of the vehicle is assessed in relation to line of travel
of the rear axle. If the thrust angle is not zero, the right-hand and left-hand values will be different
when the front wheels are centred on a line drawn through the middle of the axles.
Three procedures are available
- adjustment steering centred
- adjustment steering wheel locked
- adjustment wheel by wheel.
7 - System Use
Navigation in the system screens and confirmation of choices:
· use the UB.650 keyboard,
· or the UB.22V remote control.
Description of remote control keys:
arrows equivalent to the directional keys on the keyboard.
These allow the user to navigate in the menu screen bars and menu commands.
Use of supplied system accessories:
· Each accessory has a precise purpose. It is recommended that you use accessories under the defined
conditions when the equipment is put into service.
Precautions in use:
· The user is informed of any non-compliant or non-standard use of the equipment.
· The UB.12 grip attachments (these must be used) are designed to avoid any risk of the heads falling.
· The head-carriers come with a number of different attachment fittings to be used in various configura-
tions according to type of wheel rim. They are provided to avoid leaving marks on the rims and to give
more secure head mounting.
· It is imperative that the locking thumbwheels should be loosened for rim runout compensation and head
levelling.
· All maintenance work on the equipment must be carried out by skilled operatives who have received
appropriate training.
· Never exert force on the heads either to centre the steering wheel or to carry out
steering lock tests.
