3.3.1 Ducted exhaust of pilot and breathable air
As per standard ISO 15407−2, connections 12 and 14 are in
tended for supplying the valve terminal with external pilot air.
The Festo valves for the VTSA valve terminal require pilot air
supply exclusively via channel 14.
In the case of the reversible 2x3/2−way valves from Festo,
additional supply pressure is also required
at channel 12 for
the internal pneumatic spring. This supply pressure must
correspond to the pilot pressure.
All other valves from Festo, which are operated as per ISO
standard, work independently of channel 12. In this operating
mode the pilot exhaust is vented non−ducted at each valve.
In the operating mode for ducted pilot
and breathable ex
haust via channel 12 (see chapter 5.4.1), there must be no
pressure at channel 12, as otherwise the valves cannot
switch.
Please note therefore the following points if you wish to use
channel 12 for ducted pilot and breathable exhaust air:
The valve terminal is not fitted with reversible 2x3/2−way
valves.
The valve terminal is not fitted with valves from other
manufacturers.
The seals between the manifold blocks and the valves
must be fitted in the appropriate position (see chapter
5.4.1).
Valve terminals with selector end plate must be operated
in positions 3 or 4 of the code cover (see Tab.3/2).
