Startup (continued)
E100 starts up, but
the Fiery screens on the
Control Panel are
unavailable for more
than 10 minutes
One of the following:
• Faulty connection
between E100 and copier
• Corrupt system software
• Faulty copier interface
board
1. Check and reseat the interface cable between the E100 and the
copier.
2. Replace the interface cable.
3. Reinstall system software.
4. Replace the copier interface board.
E100 starts up, and stays
on, but does not reach the
idle state
One of the following:
• Service switches are not
set for Normal operation
• System software
is corrupt
• HDD is faulty
• Missing or faulty
DIMM, or faulty DIMM
connections
• Motherboard
is faulty
• CPU missing or faulty
1. Make sure that the E100 service switches are set to OFF for Normal mode
(away from the numbers on the switch).
2. Power off/on the E100.
3. Reinstall system software.
4. Reseat the cables to the HDD.
5. Replace the HDD cable.
6. Replace the HDD.
7. Check the DIMM and reseat them to remove any oxidation on the connectors.
8. Clear the CMOS (see page 57).
9. Replace the motherboard.
10. Replace the CPU.

Check connections of the copier interface board and replace associated
cables or the copier interface board, if necessary.
