22. Wearingparts
Your FLYER is a technical product and therefore
requires regular inspection.
Many parts of your FLYER are subject to very
rapid wear, depending on their function and the
extentofusage.
This includes:
• Tyres
• Rims in connection with rim brakes
• Brake pads
• Brake discs
• Bicycle chain or drive belt
• Chain wheels, sprockets, jockey wheels
• Lighting system
• Handlebar grips
• Lubricants
• Gear and brake cables
• Bearings
• Suspension elements
Have your FLYER regularly inspected in
a FLYER specialised workshop and
have wearing parts changed as re-
quired. Regular visual inspection for
cracks,
scratches and damage to com-
ponents is the responsibility of the driver.
The bicycle is subject to wear and high
stress as are all other mechanical com-
ponents. Depending on the degree of
stress
imposedonthem,dierentmate-
rials
and parts may react dierently in
terms of wear and fatigue. A part may
suddenly fail and cause injuries to the
driver when its designed service life is
exceeded.Anykindofcracks,scratches
or colour changes in high-stress areas
are an indicator that the service life of
thecomponenthasbeenexceededand
that it should be replaced.
