in the following safety notes.
Please pay special attention to the sections in the manual m arked
with the symbo l on the left.
When connecting and disconnecting cables, observe the relevant
notes in this operating manual.
Read the information on the ambient conditions in the "
Technical data",
Pag e 83 and "First-time setup of your device", Page 15 before preparing your
notebook for use and s witching it on for the first time.
When cleaning the device, please ob serve the relevant note s in th e
section "
Cleaning the notebook " , Page 14.
Pay attention to the additional safety notes for devices with wire less
components provided in the "Safety" manual.

Additional safety notes for devices with
radio components

If a radio component (W ireless LAN, Bluetoot h, UMTS) is integrated in your no tebook, you
must be sure to observe the following safety notes w hen using your notebook:
• Switch off the radio components when you a re in an aircraft or d riving in a car.
• Switch off the radio components when you are in a hospital, an operating r oom or near a medical
electronics system. The transmitted radio waves can impair the op eration of medical devices.
• Switch off the radio components wh en you let the de vice ge t ne ar flammable
gases or into hazardous environments (e.g. p e trol station, paintshops), as the
transmitted rad io waves can cause an explosion or a fire.
