Programming the application keys
With the Application Pan el you can assign various f unct ions to the application keys.
Windows XP
You will find the Application Panel under Start - (Setting s ) - Cont rol Panel - Additional
Control Panel Options - App lication Panel.
Windows Vista and Win dows 7:
You will find the Application Panel under Start symbol - Programs - Lifebook Application Panel.
Touchpad and touchpad buttons
Keep the touchpad clean. Protect it from dirt, liquids and grease.

Do not use the touchpad if your fingers are dirty.
Do not rest heavy objects (e.g. books) on the touchp ad or the touchpad buttons.

The touchpad enables you to move the mouse pointer on the screen.
The touchpad buttons allow you to select and execute commands. They correspond
to the buttons on a conventional mouse.
You can use a key combination to disable the touchpad, to avoid accidentally moving
the pointer on the screen (see also "
Key combina tions", Page 25).
Moving the pointer
► Move your finger on the touchpad.
