Connecting the notebook to the Port Replicator
If you connect the noteb ook to the P ort Replicator during operation, problem s can
occur. We recommend that you switch off the notebook beforehand.
The mains adapter must be connected to the Port Re plicator when the
notebook is connected to the Port Rep lica tor.
We recommend that the notebook is not operated with the LCD monitor closed when
the notebook is conne cted to the Port Replicator. T he resulting overhea ting can
cause reduced performance a nd increased activity of the integrated fan.
PortReplic ato r
► Switch the notebook off.
► Remove the power plug of the mains adapter from the m ains socket.
► Disconnect the mains adapter cable from the DC socket (DC IN) of the notebook.

► Ensure that the positioning aid (a) is open (1).
► Position the note book so that it is in line with the back edge an d the
positioning aid of the Port Replicator.
► Push the c entre of the notebook in the direction of the arrow (2) o nto the
Port Replicator until it is felt to engage.
