Smart Cards are not supplied as standard equipment . You can use all Smart Cards that comply with
the ISO standard 7816-1, -2 or -3. These Smart Cards are available from v arious manufacturers.
With the appropriate software you can use your Smart Card as an alternative to password
protection, but also as a digital signature, for encrypting your e-mails or for home banking.
We recommend that you always use two Smart Cards. Always keep one of the Smart Cards
in a safe place if you are carrying th e o ther Smart C ard with you.
In order to be able to take advantage of all the security features of your Tablet PC,
you will need a CardOS Smart Card from Fujitsu.
The Smart Card can only be used with a PIN, so maximum protection is maintained
even when the Smart Card is lost. In order to maximize your se curity, the Card OS
Smart Card is disabled if three incorrect attempts are made to enter the PIN.
During first time use of your CardOS Smart Card, you must either ente r th e preset PIN
"12345678" o r the PIN which has been notified to you by your system administrator.
