5.6.8 Testing the Altimeter Encoder Option
To enable and disable this Altimeter Encoder facility access the configuration menu. When enabled,
this facility will be available from power-up of the ADTS 405 with the settings held in non-volatile
memory.
If the altimeter encoder displays ENCODER ERROR then check the continuity of the altimeter
encoder option cable. The, optional, 15-core cable is supplied for the AAU-32 encoder unit (see
connection details in table 5-4 Optional cable (AAU-32 units)
a. If the cable is unserviceable, replace the cable.
b. Repeat the procedure 3.8 Enabling the Altimeter Encoder Option.
If the test fails again, return the ADTS 405 to the authorised maintenance or repair centre.
Note: The D2 data line (turquoise cable) is not defined for the AAU-32, it is for
above 62,000 ft and not connected.
