19 Low-energy mode and automatic mode
19.1 Low energy mode
Doors set to low-energy function generally do not require any additional protective devices, if no people in special
need of protection are expected to use the door.
The drive can be operated as a low-energy drive if the following conditions are met:
à The static force on the main closing edge is smaller than 67N.
à The kinetic energy in the door leaf is lower than 1.69J.
If the drive does not full these requirements, it is in automatic mode. The leaf movement has to be secured with
protective devices. Safety sensors can be connected both for automatic mode and for low-energy mode. The control
unit also reacts to connected safety sensors in low-energy mode if the control is congured correspondingly.
Low-energy mode or automatic mode is set using the parameter
aT
. Factory setting is low-energy mode.
X
Set parameter
aT
(drive type) as follows:
à set to
01
for “1-leaf single-action door with guide rail, low-energy mode (factory setting)
or
à to
02
for “1-leaf single-action door with link arm, low-energy mode” (ECturn only).
If parameters are set for low-energy mode,
à the setting options of the hold-open times is limited to greater than or equal to 5 s,
à the opening speed and the closing speed are set to 1/s (door angle),
à the maximum opening torque and maximum closing torque is set to 40Nm.
During commissioning the values for the speeds and for the torques can then be optimised individually in the case
of light or narrow door leaves (see chapter 19.1.1).
