Using Data Acquisition Features
! Patient ID: a 10 digit number identifying the patient (social security
number, hospital file number, etc.).
! Volume accounting functions: the total processed volume, the total
reinfused volume, the total washed volume and the number of bowls
processed.
! Procedure duration and procedure number.
! Number of concentrate cycles performed during the procedure.
! Volume status cycle by cycle: the processed, washed and reinfused
volume at the end of each complete cycle.
! Error codes recorded during the procedure.
! Estimated Blood Loss (EBL) for the patient.
! Estimated Plasma Loss (EPL) for the patient.
These two last parameters will be displayed and calculated only if the
related option has been set in the utility mode.
Explaining the output devices
One of the goals of data acquisition is to avoid paperwork by providing the
recorded information in the form and on the media which responds best to
the requirements of the physician. To implement this, various output devices
can be connected to the CS5+ system such as a non-thermal printer, a
compatible PC.
