9.14 CH2 – 20 V/div (3% accuracy)
– Set attenuator CH 2 to 20 V/div.
– Connect a 40 Vpp (accuracy ± 0.1%), 1 kHz square wave
signal via 50Ω cable to input CH 2.
– For 0% error the signal height is 2 div. (3% = 0.6 mm).
– Press ANALOG/DIGITAL key to switch over to digital
mode.
– Check that the specifi cation is met too.
– Press ANALOG/DIGITAL key to return to analog mode.
10. ADD Accuracy (5 mV/div.)
The accuracy reading should always be performed in the
following way:
– Set the square wave bottom on a horizontal graticule line
and read the height in the top position in the screen cent-
re.
– Calculate the deviation in respect to the specifi cations.
(5% error of 5 div. (50 mm) height means that the acceptance
range is from 47.5 mm to 52.5 mm; 3% means ±1.5 mm)
Continue as follows:
– Connect a 25 mVpp (accuracy ± 0.1%), 1 kHz square wave
signal via 50Ω cable to an input of a 50Ω 6 dB splitter with
2 outputs.
– Connect a 50Ω cables to each splitter output and terminate
each cable with a 50Ω through terminator.
– Press VERT/XY key and select ADD mode in Vertical
menu.
– Set both attenuators to 5mV/div.
– Check that TRIGGER SOURCE is set to CH1.
– Connect one 50Ω through terminator to input CH1.
– Check that the signal is displayed with 2.5 div. height.
– Connect the second 50Ω through terminator to input CH2.
– Check that the signal is now displayed with 5 div. height (0%
error).
– Press ANALOG/DIGITAL key to switch over to digital
mode.
– Check that the specifi cation is met too.
– Press ANALOG/DIGITAL key to return to analog mode.
11. CH 1: Y-Amplifi er Overshoot
(Analog/Digital)
– Press VERT/XY pushbutton and check that Bandwidth is
set to Full.
– Press MENU OFF pushbutton.
– Connect a 25 mVpp, 1 MHz fast rising square wave signal
via 50Ω cable and 50Ω through terminator to input CH1.
– Check that the attenuator is set to 5 mV/div, so that the
signal is displayed with 5 div. height.
– Check that DC input coupling is selected.
– Set time base to 50 ns/div.
– Turn HORIZONTAL knob so that the rising edge is displayed
in the screen centre.
– Press MAG x10 pushbutton to expand the signal 10-fold.
– Turn HORIZONTAL knob ccw to move the signal rising edge
to the left, where it must be still visible.
– Turn POSTION 1 knob to set the top right position of the
signal exactly on a horizontal graticule line serving as a
reference.
– Evaluate the overshoot after the rising edge. It must not be
higher then 0.5 mm (1% of the signal height of 5 div.).
– Press ANALOG/DIGITAL key to switch over to digital
mode.
– Set time base to 5 ns/div.
– Turn HORIZONTAL knob ccw to move the signal rising edge
to the left, where it must be still visible.
– Turn POSTION 1 knob to set the top right position of the
signal exactly on a horizontal graticule line serving as a
reference.
– Check that the specifi cation is met too.
– Press ANALOG/DIGITAL key to return to analog mode.
