Boom Movements When Spraying
The operator of the sprayer must consider the field conditions before spraying, as this could include a change to the boom
setup regarding suspension and damping.
The object is to have the unfolded boom aligned parallel to the ground when driving in the field, as this will optimize the
spraying.
At delivery, the spray boom is normally set in a neutral position (2), meaning that the unfolded boom will follow the
movements of the sprayers wheel axle to some extent = an active boom. This works for many field conditions.
The trapeze and pendulum in the boom centre can be adjusted, if you need another setup.
This is relevant for sloping fields and for uneven or bumpy driving tracks.
Description of Spring Function
The adjustable spring arrangement in the centre section will level out
abrupt movements of the spray boom. If different field conditions
appear, for example hilly or sloping fields, the spring arrangement may
need manual adjustment.
When driving over an uneven area in the field, or when turning at
headlands, the boom will move up or down compared to the direction
of the wheel axle of the sprayer.
The boom movement can be adjusted by moving the spring to another
position.
There is one spring for each boom wing.
Adjustment of Boom Movement
On the top bracket there are 3 hole positions, whereto for the springs
controlling each boom wing can be connected via rigging screws.
μ
ATTENTION! If the function AutoTerrain is installed, the springs
should be mounted in the middle hole (2).
Hole closest to boom centre (1) Less straightening of the boom.
The boom is moving only slightly and working
towards a a horizontal position (pendulum style).
Suitable for flat and even fields.
Middle hole (2) Medium straightening of the boom.
The boom movement is at a medium level.
Hole farthest away from centre (3) Powerful straightening of the boom.
The boom will follow the direction of the wheel axle
to some extent (trapeze style).
Suitable for sloping fields.
