Flooded Engine
During this period, avoid full-thorottle starts
and rapid acceleration.
î While the engine is idling, press the clutch
lever and depress the gearshift pedal
st
downwards using the toe to shift into 1 gear.
Help assure your motorcycle's future reliability
and performance by paying extra attention to
how you ride during the first 500 km.
If the engine fails to start after repeated
attempts, it may be flooded with excess fuel. To
clear a flooded engine, turn the ignition switch
“OFF” ( ) and move choke lever fully upwards
toOFF” position. Open the throttle fully and
crank the engine with the kick starter. Turn the
ignition switch “ON( ) and start engine with
the choke lever in "OFF" position.
RIDING
î After the engine has been warmed up, the
motorcycle is ready for riding.
î The sequence is repeated progressively to
rd
th th
shift 3 and 4 and 5 gear.
î When the motorcycle attains a moderate
speed, close the throttle, press the clutch
nd
lever and shift to gear by placing the toe

on the underside of gear pedal and lift

Do not shift gears without operating clutch
and without closing the throttle otherwise this
would lead to damage of gears.
CAUTION
î For normal braking, close the throttle and
gradually apply both front and rear brake
together while shifting down gears to suit
your road speed.
î For sudden deceleration/quick stopping,
close the throttle and apply the front and
rear brakes simultaneously.
BRAKING
î Extreme braking may cause wheel locking
and reduce control over the motorcycle.
î Independent use of only the front or rear
brake increases stopping distance.
î Wherever possible, reduce speed or apply
brake before entering a turn, closing the
throttle or braking in mid turn may cause
wheel slip. Wheel slip will reduce control
over the motorcycle.
