î The battery gives off explosive hydrogen gas
during normal operation.
î A spark or flame can cause the battery to explode
with enough force to seriously hurt you.
î Wear protective clothing and a face shield,
or have skilled technician do the battery
maintenance.
WARNING
Battery charging
Always visit your Authorised Hero MotoCorp
workshop if you see any symptom of battery
discharge as earliest as possible to get the
battery charged. The battery has a tendency to
discharge rapidly if optional electrical
accessories are fitted on the motorcycle.
î If the battery is expected to be stored for
more then two months, ensure to fully
charge the battery once in a month.
î Always ensure the battery is fully charged
before installation.
î Ensure the battery leads are properly connected
to the battery terminals during installation.
Battery storage
î If in case your motorcycle is not used for
more then a month remove the battery, fully
charge and store in a cool and dry place.
î Do not attempt to start or ride the motorcycle
without a charged battery, it can cause fusing
of the bulbs and permanent damage to
certain electrical components.
î Turn the ignition switch "OFF" before checking
or replacing the fuse to prevent accidental
short-circuiting.
CAUTION
î Ensure the battery leads are properly
connected to the battery terminals during
installation.
î Remove the right side cover screws (1) and
remove the side cover(2).
Battery removal
î Remove the seat (page 20).
î Make sure the ignition switch is “OFF”.
