5.4.1.5 Track Test
Stem of “h” on calibrator rotor disk does not
flash in cross pattern as shown in illustration.
1. Check Velocimeter/magnetic pickup cables
(Figure 5-14).
2. Replace Velocimeter/mag pickup and retest.
3. Ensure gap between magnetic pickup and
screw is .030 +
.010 in.
4. Check 8500C/C+ harness assembly
(Figure 5-19) for shorted or open
connections which can be caused by loose
or pinched wires, unplugged connectors, or
worn-through insulation.
5. Digital board is most likely as fault.
Replace digital board (Figure 5-17, A1).
5.4.2 Disk Drive Test Procedure 1. Repeat test with another diskette.
2. Perform disk drive cleaning procedure
(Section 5.7.1.2).
3. Check 8500C/C+ harness assembly
(Figure 5-19) for shorted or open
connections which can be caused by loose
or pinched wires, unplugged connectors, or
worn-through insulation.
4. Disk drive most likely at fault. Replace disk
drive (Figure 5-18, 10).
5. Digital board next most likely at fault.
Replace digital board (Figure 5-17, A1).
