The air quality measurement allows the VIEW

system to compensate for vehicle fumes, fog, or other

particles brought into the protected area through the

ventilation system. Poor air quality will lower the

sensitivity of all FSL-751 detectors on the SLC. The

detector sensitivity, however, remains within approved

limits (always less than 1% obscuration per foot).

NOTE: A reference detector still functions as a smoke detector, but you should set the detector sensitivity level to the least sensitive level—AL:9 and

PA:9 Change Alarm and Pre-Alarm sensitivity. Refer to “Detector Sensitivity Settings” on page 101 for a complete list of detector sensitivity settings.
