5.2. Use of tesa UV-Strips
The tesa UV-Strips are supplied in a special foil pack which is impermeable
to light and should only be removed from this immediately before use. The
strips are not sensitivity to daylight, but will also become discoloured in day-
light after long periods of exposure.
Unpack tesa UV-Strip
The foil packaging can be pulled apart
easily at one end using the two pull-tabs
and opened up completely. The strip
can now be removed using the coloured
end
Pull off the protective film
Pull the white protective film off the ad-
hesive layer. Make sure that you do not
bend the strip or touch the middle part
with your fingers
Stick the tesa UV-Strip on
Stick the strip onto the surface of the
work piece using the adhesive layer so
that it sticks over the entire surface. Do
not touch the middle part of the strip
with your fingers.
Remove the tesa UV-Strip
Using the coloured pull-tab, remove the
strip from the base. The adhesive layer
will be left behind on the surface of the
work piece. For exact results you should
wait about 5 minutes before analysing
the strip.
Evaluate the tesa UV-Strip
After removing, push the strip as shown
with both fingers underneath the sensor
covering as far as it will go. Make sure
that the strip is passed under the sensor
cover flat and without folds.
