Install the SSD module on the M.2 SSD enablement board.
8. Install the M.2 SSD enablement board in any slot in the primary or secondary PCI riser cage
("Installing an expansion board" on page 93).
9. Install the PCI riser cage (on page 24).
10. Install the access panel (on page 22).
11. Install the server into the rack.
12. Connect each power cord to the server.
13. Connect each power cord to the power source.
14. Power up the server ("Powering up the server" on page 21).
Installing an M.2 SSD Enablement Board
The M.2 SSD enablement board is supported in either slot 1 or 2 of the Primary riser cage and slot 3 on
the secondary PCI riser cage.
To install the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 21).
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Extend the server from the rack (on page 21).
4. Remove the access panel (on page 22).
5. Remove the PCI riser cage (on page 23).
6. If the board is installed in slot 2 or 3 (the low-profile riser), then do the following:
