4. The thermal pads are reusable as long as they are not damaged or torn. Take care when removing
or transferring the thermal pad from one module to another. The following illustration shows the
replacement thermal material locations.
Thermal pads are used on the memory modules (1) and on the memory module compartment cover
areas (2) that service them.
5. Spread the two retention clips outward (1) until the memory module tilts up at a 45° angle, and then
remove the module (2). Use the same procedure to remove all memory modules.
To protect a memory module after removal, place it in an electrostatic-safe container.
