5.1 Sending Text and Multimedia Messages
Messages lets you compose and send text (SMS) and multimedia messages (MMS)
to other mobile phones.
Opening Messages
Press HOME, then tap , and then tap Messages.
Tap to create a new text
or picture message.
Tap to open the message
or message thread and
read the text or view the
picture message.
If the list of messages
does not fit on the
screen, you can scroll
up the screen to view
more messages, or roll
the TRACKBALL down.
Indicates new
messages in the
thread.
Creating and sending SMS and MMS messages
You can compose text (SMS) messages of up to 160 characters. If you continue to
type after the limit is reached, your message will be delivered as one, but count as
more than one message. These are called concatenated messages.
