Chapter 1 Getting Started 17
1.3 Before Turning On Your Phone
When you take your phone out of the box, you’ll find that the battery
is inside the phone with a thin film attached. Remove this film and
reinsert the battery before charging or turning the phone on.
Also insert your SIM card. If you purchased a microSD™ card, insert it,
too, before you turn the phone on.
Removing the back cover
Narrow
opening
Put your fingertip into the narrow
opening at the top of the phone. Lift off
the top left side of the back cover, and
then push it to the right to remove the
back cover completely.
Removing the battery
If this is your first time to remove the battery, you’ll see the upper
flap of a thin film wrapped over the upper half of the battery. Pull the
upper flap of the film to loosen and remove the battery.
Groove
You can also put your fingertip
into the small groove located
at the right side of the battery
compartment, and then lift the
battery out.
Note Make sure to peel off the thin film
from the battery.
