Prerequisites
l A PC is properly connected to the server using a multi-port serial cable.
l The PuTTY is installed and its version is 0.60 or later.
l You have obtained the user name and password for logging in to the management
module to be connected.
l You have obtained the software package of the third-party free software PuTTY.
Procedure
Step 1 Double-click PuTTY.exe.
The PuTTY Configuration window is displayed.
Step 2 In the navigation tree, choose Connection > Serial.
Step 3 Set the login parameters.
Example:
l Serial Line to connect to: COMn
l Speed (baud): 115200
l Data bits: 8
l Stop bits: 1
l Parity: None
l Flow control: None
n in COMn indicates the number of a serial port, and its value is an integer.
Step 4 In the navigation tree, choose Session.
Step 5 Select Serial under Connection type, as shown in Figure 5-3.
