Chapter 5. Monitoring the system using LEDs
The section provides information about LED-based monitoring of IBM Storage Scale System 6000. The
chapter guides customers to use LEDs for monitoring and maintenance of the system.
The following components of IBM Storage Scale System 6000 support LED-based monitoring:
System status
Server canisters
Power supply units (PSUs)
Drive
PCIe slots
System status LEDs
System status LEDs provide information about the status of the IBM Storage Scale System 6000.
In the front of the system, three status LEDs are available per enclosure in the left ear, as shown in the
following gure.

From the top of the enclosure's left ear, the following LEDs are supported:
1. The rst LED provides the status of the PSUs.
2. The second LED alerts about faulty eld-replaceable units (FRUs).
3. The third LED corresponds to the Identify status.
The following table describes the system status LEDs in the IBM Storage Scale System 6000.
