6. Remove the drive retention clip from the drive.
7. If you are instructed to return the CD-RW/DVD drive, follow all packaging
instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to
you.
Installing an optional CD-RW/DVD drive
To install the replacement CD-RW/DVD drive, complete the following steps.

1. Remove the drive filler panel.
2. Attach the drive-retention clip to the side of the drive.
3. Slide the drive into the CD/DVD drive bay until the drive clicks into place.
4. Install the cover (see “Installing the cover” on page 178).
5. Slide the server into the rack.
6. Reconnect the external cables; then, reconnect the power cords and turn on the
peripheral devices and the server.
Removing a tape drive
The following illustration shows how to remove an optional tape drive from the
server.
