2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and
external cables (see “Turning off the server” on page 23).
3. Remove the cover (see “Removing the cover” on page 45).
4. Remove PCI riser-card assembly 2 if one is installed (see “Removing a PCI
riser-card assembly” on page 46).
5. Grasp the top of the air baffle and lift the air baffle out of the server.
Important: For proper cooling and airflow, replace all air baffles before you
turn on the server. Operating the server with any air baffle removed might
damage server components.
Installing the microprocessor 2 air baffle
Use this information to install the microprocessor 2 air baffle.
About this task
To install the microprocessor 2 air baffle, complete the following steps:
Procedure
1. Read the safety information that begins on page “Safety” on page v and
“Installation guidelines” on page 37.
2. Make sure that the server and peripheral devices are turned off (see “Turning
off the server” on page 23) and that all power cords and external cables are
disconnected.
3. Remove the cover (see “Removing the cover” on page 45).
4. Align the tab on the left side of the microprocessor 2 air baffle with the slot in
the right side of the power-supply cage.
5. Lower the microprocessor 2 air baffle into the server. Make sure that the pin on
the end of the air baffle is inserted into the hole on the system board (see the
illustration).
Attention: For proper cooling and airflow, replace all air baffles before you
turn on the server. Operating the server with any air baffle removed might
damage server components.
