Group F3: V/F Control Parameters
Group F3 is valid for V/F control (F0-01 = 2), and invalid for vector control (F0-01= 0 or 1).
The V/F control is applied to the drive control of traveling mechanism or one CS500
driving multiple motors.

To compensate the low frequency torque characteristics of V/F control, you can boost the
output voltage of the AC drive at low frequency via F3-01.
If the torque boost is set to too large, the motor may overheat, and the AC drive may suffer
over-current. Generally, the torque boost must not be larger than 8.0%. Properly adjusting
this parameter can help to avoid over-current at startup.
For relatively large load, it is recommended to increase the value of this parameter. For
small load, decrease the value. If this parameter is set to 0.0, the AC drive adopts auto
torque boost.
F3-02 indicates the frequency under which torque boost is valid. Torque boost becomes
invalid when this frequency is exceeded, as shown in the following figure.
Figure 6-2 Manual torque boost
Before enabling the auto torque boost or slip compensation function, perform motor
auto-tuning first to ensure the control effect.
The auto torque boost function and the V/F slip compensation gain (F03-09) cannot be enabled
simultaneously.
