Installing the ESS Maestro-2 PCI Sound Adapter Driver
To fully install the ESS Maestro-2 PCI sound adapter driver, you should install both the
Windows 95 and DOS sound drivers.
To install the Windows sound drivers:
1. Insert the media containing the ESS sound driver into the appropriate drive.
2. Go to Start/Run, and then type the following into the Open field; then click OK.
drive:\setup.exe
where drive is the drive letter for the appropriate drive.
3. Click Next. Check the Upgrade Drivers radio button, then click Next.
NOTE If Setup finds an older version of any file, click New to continue.
4. Click Finish. The system reboots.
5. Click OK when prompted.
6. In the text field, type the drive designation you entered previously.
To install the DOS sound drivers:
1. Insert the media containing the ESS sound driver into the appropriate drive.
2. Go to Start/Run, and then type the following into the Open field; then click OK.
drive:\setup.exe
where drive is the drive letter for the appropriate drive.
3. Click Next. Check the Game Support radio button, then click Next.
NOTE If Setup finds an older version of any file, click New to continue.
4. When prompted, check the DOS Box and Native DOS support radio button.
5. Click Finish. The system reboots.
NOTE You must disable PnP O/S support in the BIOS to use sound in Native DOS mode.
