whetherbyroad,railorbyair.Individualtransport
companieshave,however,guidelineswhichcanpossibly
restrictorforbidcertaintransportprocedures.Pleaseask
thetransportcompanyregardingeachindividualcase.
•Beforetransportingyourmobilitydevice,makesurethe
motorsareengagedandthattheremoteisswitchedoff.
Invacarestronglyrecommendsthatyouadditionally
disconnectorremovethebatteries.RefertoRemoving
thebatteries.
•Invacarestronglyrecommendssecuringthemobility
devicetotheoorofthetransportingvehicle.
7.3Transportingtheoccupiedwheelchairina
vehicle
Evenwhenthewheelchairisproperlysecuredandthe
followingrulesaremet,injuriestopassengersmayoccur
inacollisionorsuddenstop.ThereforeInvacarestrongly
recommendstransferringthewheelchairusertothevehicle
seatwiththeseatbelton.Donotmakealterationsor
substitutionstopointsofthewheelchair(structure,frameor
parts)withoutthewrittenconsentofInvacareCorporation.
Thewheelchairhasbeensuccessfullytestedaccordingto
therequirementsofISO7176–19(Frontalimpact).

Riskofseriousinjuryordeath
Tousethewheelchairasaseatinavehiclethe
backrestheightminimummustbeatleast400
mm.
Totransportthewheelchairwithuserinavehicle,a
restraintsystemmustbeinstalledinthevehicle.Wheelchair
tie-downsandoccupantrestraintsystemsmustbeapproved
accordingtoISO10542-2.ContactyourlocalInvacare
authorizeddealerformoreinformationongettingand
installinganapprovedandcompatiblerestraintsystem.
WARNING!
If,forsomereason,itisimpossibletotransferthe
wheelchairusertoavehicleseat,thewheelchair
canbeusedasaseatinavehicleifthefollowing
proceduresandregulationsarefollowed.A
transportationkit(optional)havetobettedon
thechairforsuchapurpose.
–Thewheelchairmustbesecuredinthevehicle
witha4-pointwheelchairrestraintsystem.
–Theusermustweara3-pointpassenger
restraintsystemsecuredtothevehicle.
–Theusercanbeadditionallysecuredwitha
posturebeltinthewheelchair.
WARNING!
Safetyrestraintdevicesmustonlybeusedwhen
thewheelchairuser'sweightis22kgormore
(ISO-7176-19).
–Donotusethewheelchairasaseatinavehicle
whentheuserweightislowerthan22kg.
