Why isn't packet communication working with my iPECS Gateway and xDSL/Cable modem?

There might be a couple of reasons why packet communication isn't working properly with your xDSL/Cable modem:
1. Incorrect WAN side address settings and PPPoE settings. Check these settings.
2. Other network devices connected to the same modem. Disconnect all other network devices and restart the iPECS Gateway.

If your iPECS Gateway is in WAN DISCONNECTED mode, consider the following:
* Check the LAN cable and reconnect it, as the physical WAN connection might have failed.
* Ensure the RSGM is registered in the host iPECS System.
* Verify the RSGM network configuration for any issues.
* The issue may be with your ISP; contact them or Ericsson-LG agent for assistance.

If network applications aren't working on a PC connected behind the iPECS Gateway, it could be due to the PC not being assigned an IP address properly from the RSGM DHCP server after restarting RSGM. Try restarting the network adapter by using the command 'ipconfig /renew_all' (Win95/98) or 'ipconfig /renew' (Win2000/XP) on the Command Prompt, or restart the network adapter in another available way. For Win95/98, restarting the PC may be necessary.

If packet routing between WAN and LAN ports isn't working on your iPECS Gateway, ensure that the WAN and LAN side network addresses are different. Since RSGM is a layer 3 routing device, if the LAN side IP address is 10.10.50.50, the WAN side IP address should be something other than 10.10.50.X (e.g., 123.123.10.10). If RSGM must use 10.10.50.X for the WAN side, change the LAN side address.

If your iPECS Gateway stops packet communication after setting VLAN/Priority, it's possible that your local network environment isn't configured or doesn't support VLAN/Priority. Disable VLAN/Priority settings using Serial Configuration.
